Peer Mediation at Chorlton CE Primary School
Chorlton CofE Primary School had a well established playground buddy scheme and were looking to train up their year 6 buddies as peer mediators.
Resolutions First delivered training to twenty pupils, giving them the skills need to mediate conflict on the playground. In addition, all staff were given training, as part of an INSET day.
Peaceable Schools - A Restorative Justice initiative
Resolutions First is working with two primary schools in East Manchester, Ashbury Meadow Primary and Armitage CofE Primary on an initiative called 'Peaceable Schools'. This programme is funded by New East Manchester Education Team. The aim of this programme is to develop whole-school approaches to restorative justice and to create a framework that can be duplicated in other schools. Work in these schools has included setting up playground buddy schemes, visioning with staff and pupils, developing programmes around emotional literacy and social inclusion, and staff training.
